Faculty members are teamed with residents for seminar topics.  Topics are chosen based on CREOG Educational Objectives (8th edition).  This year, we have added 'mock oral board' case discussions to our seminar series.

Friday morning education takes place in our classroom, which has a complete set of multimedia equipment.

Seminars and Reading Assignments

  • Reading assignments have been matched to the seminars. If no specific reading has been asssigned, residents are expected to use their primary texts to read up on the topic.
  • Residents are expected to have read the materials prior to the sessions.

      Basic Premises of the Seminar

  • Seminars are intended to be interactive discussions and problem solving sessions with the residents.
  • To promote team work among the residents, they have been divided into 5 teams for the year. The chiefs will serve as team leaders.
  • The residents have committed to following guidelines of promptness, professionalism and good citizenship. The same is expected of faculty mentors.
  • To add diversity to their learning, the teams are competing for points throughout the year.
  • The winning team will have the honor of holding the "Crenshaw - Nagey" Challenge Cup for the year.  Additionally, the Chief resident of the winning team receives a laptop computer.  Other team members receive money towards textbooks, conference attendance or other educational materials.
