Katherine O'Brien is a faculty instructor in the Division of General Bbstetrics and Gynecology while also providing full scope midwifery care in the practice.  She earned a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from The University of Delaware and a Masters of Science in Nurse Midwifery from Georgetown University.  In addition to being a Certified Nurse-Midwife she is a Certified Childbirth Educator and strongly believes in patient education.  Prior to her midwifery training she was well known within the division as an experienced labor and delivery nurse and coordinator of the Stork's Nest Prenatal Program. Her professional  interests include breastfeeding promotion, natural childbirth, and reducing health disparities.
